Karen Kasaba’s work as a playwright and screenwriter has earned multiple awards including an Emmy nomination. Her stories, essays and articles have appeared in STONECOAST REVIEW (Pushcart nominee), STORY|HOUSTON, SWINK, RED WHEELBARROW, SANTA BARBARA MAGAZINE (Fiction Competition Winner), HAWAI‘I REVIEW, CHARITON REVIEW, THE SUMMERSET REVIEW, WESTWAYS, BYLINE, AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER, LOS ANGELES TIMES, and the SANTA BARBARA INDEPENDENT, among others.
A member of WGAw and SAG•AFTRA, her writing approach and philosophy are influenced by her study of dreamwork, Hawaiian shamanism, filmmaking, acting, and improv training with The Groundlings.
